Wiring stepper drivers

Postby peterK » Fri Aug 21, 2015 6:24 pm

Hi all,
Am not conversant to the language of drivers stepper motors and drivers and therefore today i find myself faced with this particular issue. I purchased a couple of stepper driver boards from Fleebay which have 6 connectors for the outputs. The issue is that on my breakout board i only have 4 connectors. Should I assume that the three negatives are linked together and then connect just one of them to the board?

Am ever suspicious of what floating inputs can cause. My biggest question has therefore always been whether there is an intentional built in bias for the the enabled state in stepper drivers?

Why don't you do some guesswork by trying different connections until the point you come across the one that works. I know putting a wrong connection would only stop the current flow without causing any damage to the machine.
