Microsoft's Maker Garages could be big business

Postby maulana » Sun Nov 15, 2015 5:23 am

Microsoft has started an initiative to educate people on the potential of making things come to life with the use of CNCs. Dubbed as "Maker Space", the garages provide lots of opportunities for people of the MS campuses and even the general public to make their own stuff using the machines in the garages. This idea has been around for years in the form of makerspaces or hackerspaces but it shows that when a major player hosts it has quite a lot of potential. anyone know someone in this domain?

All men dream-but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible.

I had the opportunity to go to the makerspace in Fribourg switzerland but it turned out to be a little disappointing. i was expecting huge machines and lots of people with ideas running around but it seemed they were just interested in getting the money. im sure if someone were to actually have a great supply of machines and technology, this idea could be big business
