Many people wrongly assume that there is a single resin which solves everyone's problems. well, I gotta break it to you guys gently - there ain't such resin that serves all purposes. Let me elaborate a bit these things have different properties and hence are used for different purposes. It depends on what you use it for. :)

Where do I start now... Umm I well epoxy has the best properties for people who are not yet used to making molds. For example, ti is safe to make - ie there is no need for a respirator mask to be worn during the application. Secondly, it is quite simple to mix epoxy with other bases because of the easy ratios. You can take 1:1 or 2:1 depending on what you are making. Finally, it is easy on humidity. Simple.

I don't want to mention a specific type but given that you want to make jewellery i would advise you look for one that will form molds that are smooth and shiny.
