Is it okay to use a different software for the chinese machine?

I haven't done laser, so I don't know for sure, but does the machine have steppers and a controller of some sort? Well then find out what kind of files and code it can run, and look for other apps that can produce this type of "expected input". Hopefully someone familiar with that kind of machine will help identify these variables and/or offer other names of apps that work with it. I use gcode to run a router controlled by Linuxcnc, for example. Does your chinese laser use gcode or some proprietary code/file type?

What Chinese machine are you talking of? Can you be specific please or at least provide a picture instead.
