Configuring linuxCNC for my stepper controller

Hello,
Am looking for any references available to help me configure my cnc controller with linuxCNC. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi...
Follow this link to get how to do the configuration-> http://www.linuxcnc.org/docs/html/config/stepconf.html
it usually works with all stepper controllers and control modules if they are type "step/direction" and use the parallel port

I have a question from that link. Any possibility to use the serial port or the ethernet port instaead of the parallel port?
