Organs on demand may be printed now using 3d printers!

Postby Penguins0ften » Sat Oct 24, 2015 6:37 pm

I would totally be fine with something like this happening in my life time. Imagine organs like livers, spleens & maybe a heart being printed using 3d printers that can be bought cheaply... That is stuff right out of Sci Fi movies, right?

Right now, we have biofabrication: check it out- its a thing. Next we will have implants which will grow into new organs. Before we know it, you might be seeing a 3d printed organ, coming soon to a body near you (sic)

Just look at this printed organ. If you happen to loose an ear, worry no more, 3D will be there to make one that you replace with your gone ear

This is really great, 3D is becoming more versatile day in day out... It is true that "creativity is intelligence having fun" as Einstein puts it.

I doubt if this organs are ready to function on humans yet. We still have along way to go...and such a move is likely to take decades. So don't go loosing your ear expecting a replacement
For now those benefiting are the companies which would want to carry out experiments...

This is great... perhaps some day humans will be "creators' of some living beings

Just about half a century to go and this biofabrication will be a real breakthrough. I hope i will still be alive..
