My Portabee printer

Postby BlueMist » Tue Sep 22, 2015 6:00 am

Greetings folks,
I recently finished building my portabee 3D printer that is delivering smooth prints but still leaving occasional gap on the printing pages. Would someone please advice me on how to solve this problem.. My drawings are in Sketchup, i slice in Cura then Pronterface.
Thank you all.

Hello BlueMist.. First i would like to know which material you use for printing as this could be contributing to your problem. Its also very important that your printer has a cooling fan.

I have a cooling fan but it doesn't seem to work. Is it possible that that's where my problem is. These holes seem to come uo mainly in organic shapes.

Its necessary to have a working cooling fan for the small parts since they will have the heat build up in the parts and then melts if their heat is not cooled. You can have the fan turned off for the first layer then switch it on for any subsequent layer. If you have a controllable fan, yo do this you will have to configure it in the slicer program.
