Converting a Chinese 40 Watt Laser Cutter

Postby Middleware » Sat Feb 27, 2016 9:41 am

Hello guys.
I was wondering if it is possible to run a Chinese 40w Laser cutter using a mk3/4 controller. Can I do this and still use the existing stepper motors or do I need some new ones? I was hoping that converting the laser cutter will allow me to import .dxf files.

I too had my Chinese laser cutter converted to mk3/4. I can read the .dxf file and more I use it in both 3D and 2D

That is good news to me. So what electrical connections do I use for the laser tube and the drivers? The leaser cutter has a 24V PSU. My main aim is to jut cut 2D shapes

Well, That is no problem. When I retrofitted my laser, I wrote a detailed step by step guide. I will pm you the guide if you don’t mind. Remember to do this you must be a good CNC programmer.

I will appreciate that. Programming is not a problem. I have good expertise in that.
