Check out this beauty...

Introducing Chinese 3040z
Check out this beauty…. I recently (IIRC about 6 months ago) bought myself a Chinese 3040z CNC machine; not a big deal - just a small accessory to add to my collections. In most cases, I use the machine in milling 5mm aluminum. I want to share some of my incredible experience with the machine; but I am at loss for where to start.
I bought the machine from eBay. It set me back by around $700 inclusive of insurance and shipping. It has brought returns within that period that I honestly think have more than broken even.

I will answer all the questions concerning the machine that you ask.

Why Chinese? I mean; no offense but since you are obviously either Anglophone or francophone? Why go all the way to China for something you could get the for the same functionality here? Why not the likes of Haas, Badog and Shapeoko? :o

Honestly speaking, I just saw it on eBay and thought I could get it for practise, you know? I honestly didn't feel like coughing up $9k for something I got for far less. A lot of people go for Shapeokos but this Chinese CNC is pretty cheap and quite the same functionality - it is running and looks as good as new - and that is what really matters for me.

It all depends on what you what the machine to do for you, cost, and volume of your work among other factors. 8-)

Am I missing something? I cannot see the actual machine. OP are you sure you have linked the correct pic? Anyway, I wanted to ask a cats- related question: Did the cats come along with your router?

Which software do you use to run your machine?

I use Meshcam for creating the tool paths and Mach3 to drive the machine.

Hey, first off, congratulations on your machine - my uncle has one like that (I guess) and I know how happy you must be. Are you a pro when it comes to handling the machine? Coz I get the impression that something you get off Craigslist and Ebay must have been used before.
Where there any documentation required more especially in wiring?
