Help with the RPM

We recently purchased a Chinese machine which we have only started firing up last week. I have noticed that the RPM seems to run faster than the prescribed – although I cannot possibly test it. Any way of going about this? :oops: :oops: :oops:

Sounds like a multiplier issue. Get a tachometer – this way, you can see if the rpm matches with the values you have punched in your g-code. If this is the case, there is a parameter which influences the ratio of the RPM to that which you have in the code – so you will have to correct this parameter.

Ah, sorry if that sounded complex. Well, you just need to get a digital tachometer and try to see if the speed of the spindle matches the one of the Systec? Software controlling/translating the g-code. This way, you can accurately tell whether it is actually running faster, and if so, by how much.

You got a machine from XYZ tech? What condition did it arrive in?

No, did a research first, and found several different companies from there which had almost similar names. I am surprised there is an XYZ tech company… It was a little confusing at first, but we just settled with XYZ. It was a leap of faith, but it arrived in a good condition… Why do you ask?

We once made a mistake and bought one from one of the companies over there. It was a mess – I would like to drill my skull and gouge out all the bad experience I had with that machine. Goodluck, please update whenever you get any issue. I will be glad to share what we were forced to learn to recoup the losses…

I am sorry for your experience, man. There are rotten apples out there, and I am just crossing my fingers and hoping we didn’t bite a huge chunk of one of them.

Not that I am complaining – all the work that we poured into it may have turned it to an even higher value, more than the original $12k we paid for it.
