Chester Mill problem

I have recently been experiencing some problems with my Chester 20v mill. I am not sure whether there is a loose nut or just backlash. I have tried severally to make it gain accuracy but all in vain. It is currently at 0.2 out. What do I do guy? Was thinking of converting to ball screws and before taking that step, I would like to know whether I will be doing the right thing.

Before you do that, have you tried checking for backlash? You can use DTI to check.

That didn’t come to my mind. I will definitely check it out first.
Thanks Albert.
