Am working on building my personal XL belt of custom length and would therefore like to know what i should use to join the ends. All your suggestions on this are very welcome.

I agree with you but its advantages outweigh the disadvantages. You have to know that everything have its limitation and we evaluate it as the best when limitation is minimal.
