Re: Kit-built CNC

I can only answer the second part of the quiz. the difference between the two is that the timing belt stays stable for a long period of time but it may tear apart without any warning.this is why a timing belt comes with a suggested replacement schedule. On the other hand, the chain wears out very slo...

Re: Best Lathe Indexing Tools

Some decent lathe tools and tips of multiple sizes are sold by the JB Cutting Tools. Try them. Badog and HSS are good because it is easy to touch it up yourself. The indexable tips are however nice to use.

It has its frame materials thinly and poorly attached together and with no clear way in which to keep or reference any alignment. Ju...

Re: Easy Prototyping Suggested: Using AirBoard

This is what I have figured out from the description. The AirBoard is light in weight, compact, easily compatible with the libraries, Arduino IDE and radio shields. They have fully protected batteries. It also has no solder connectors and LED RGB, which is very strong.

Re: Easy Prototyping Suggested: Using AirBoard

Yeah, my question exactly. I have searched for it on Google and found that it is some sort of chip. What do you mean by "to be discovered recently?"

Re: Which is better between EDM and CNC?

its actually true. Remember also that the CNC machine operator requires little industrial training and personal skills to manage and supervise many machines. Years back engineers used required many years of industrial training to operate machines like lathes, milling machines and other many manuall...

Re: Hear me out..

There are many questions and many things to learn. Let us get 1/2" stock. I purpose you have soft jaws for your vise? The Thing is, after you machine side one, you will machine soft jaws to the contour of your part. And then since your part will fit into the jaws like a glove, you automatically ...

Re: Isel & Bob Problem

Use the G01 plus the rapid feed rate instead of G00 moves. I have never tried in post processor but with time, I will try it. This will enable elimination of dog leg rapids then gives you a golden chance of back plotting or imitate the outcome of the machine. This is because G00 imitation does not p...
