How about using one of the bed’s corners off the second plate for touch? I tend to think that any insulated plate that is bolted on a T-slot would work just as those used in the mini mill.

Cutting MDF for T-slot

A 6mm bit that I am using to cut some MDF 30mm thick for T-slot spoiled board has got burnt. It was running at 850mm/min. I want to buy some 2 flute HSS bits, 2 flute carbide and straight flute bits.
